Andy Goldsworthy

Andy Goldsworthy (born 25 July 1956) is an English conceptual sculptor, photographer, and environmentalist known for his site‑specific works of land art created in natural and urban settings. He works with materials such as brightly coloured flowers, icicles, leaves, mud, pinecones, snow, stone, twigs, and thorns, shaping them into compositions that are often small in scale and intentionally ephemeral. Because many of his installations are temporary, photography—usually undertaken by Goldsworthy himself—plays a central role in preserving and sharing the work. His photographs document each piece in its original environment, allowing the art to circulate without severing its essential connection to place. Andy Goldsworthy is represented by Galerie Lelong, New York City
